Responsible for the strategy and development of a family of new disruptive solutions for the enterprise.


  • Introduced a full line of  Android for the enterprise product specifically designed for line-of-business applications.
  • Ideated, developed, and launched 5 new categories of products including disruptive software applications that changed customers operations.
  • Supported multiple Fortune 500 customer and partner transitions to Android based solutions from a legacy Windows CE environment that resulted in successful deployments around the world.

Sr. Director, Technology Strategy and Planning  2004 to 2008
Lifecycle management of the product platform and all ingredient technologies for the complete line of Handheld Computers and technical marketing representative.


  • Lead the development of a cross business unit strategy for a Wi-Fi based Unified Communications platform focused on vertical industry specific communication needs.
  • Executed a multi-year platform strategy for Enterprise Handheld Computers that included plans for technologies such as LTE, EVDO, HSxPA, WiMAX, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VoIP, Security, Operating Systems, SDKs, Advanced Data Capture (scanning, imaging, RFID, speech, biometrics, sensing technologies), and Software tools to deliver standards based but differentiated products.
  • Delivered 3 additional product families based on this platform. These products became market leaders in their segments resulting in 40% growth over a 3 year period, 1.5 times faster than the overall market.
  • Staffed the team and created the mission, roles and responsibilities to accelerate the technology development process based on critical thinking and consensus driven decision making.

Engineering Director  2002 to 2004

System Solutions Group, responsible for the architecture and system definition of Rugged Handheld Computers.


  • Architected and delivered the first generation platform for a new family of Handheld Computers focused on wireless communications and voice / data convergence. This architecture yielded 5 product families all leaders in their categories and a combined installed base of more than 2 million units and a high level of engineering reuse.
  • Established a platform development process that decreased time-to-market by more than 30%, reduced sustaining cost by 50%, while growing sales by up to 18% year-over-year, twice that of the market growth.

Sr. Systems Engineer  2001 to 2002

System and Platform definition for Voice over Wi-Fi Capable Windows Mobile Handheld Computers.


  • Architected the system definition for a Voice over Wi-Fi optimized Handheld Computer that became the first converged Windows Handheld Computers with VoWi-Fi in the industry.
  • Developed requirements, design, and testing criteria for VoWi-Fi enabled mobile computers that became standard procedures for future product generations.
  • Led the implementation of multiple pilots and proofs of concept that later became full solution rollouts.

  • First W-DECT Ethernet multi-line VoIP Phone
  • 27 different residential cordless telephones in the 46MHz, 900MHz and 2.4GHz bands.

Engineering Director     2000 to 2001
Technical Lead responsible for the definition of a new line of corded and cordless VoIP terminals for home and business environments.


  • Developed the product line plan including product description, platform, technology partnerships, prototypes, development schedules, budgets, and business plans for a family of VoIP telephone systems.
  • Developed prototypes of a 2.4GHz (W-DECT) and Ethernet VoIP terminal supporting up to 4 derived lines.

Engineering Manager      1997 to 2000
Product development that ranged from basic low cost analog cordless telephones, up to complete digital systems with state-of-the-art DSP, Microprocessor, and RF circuitry.


  • Designed a low cost high performance microprocessor and One-Chip-Radio for analog cordless telephones in conjunction with Philips Semiconductors, whose peak production reached 4 million units per year.
  • Developed and Introduced 27 different products ranging from basic analog 46-49 MHz to high-featured Frequency hopping 900MHz and W-DECT 2.4 GHz generating up to $250MM in revenue per year.
  • Improved design cycles from 12-18 months down to 6-12 by means of platforming, maintaining quality and high performance manufacturing (up to 96 % yields, and 400+ units per hour).

RF Engineer        1995 to 1997
Supporting of current model engineer in manufacturing facilities in Mexico.  Transferred to NJ in April 96 as a Lead Design Engineer.
